This Almond Coconut Turmeric Milk is lush and silky smooth on your tongue. There's no easier way to supplement with turmeric than slipping it into your nut milk. This drink is nutritious and can be served chilled or warmed. Pull out your blender and give this one a try.

Ingredients

1 cup raw almonds (you could use macadamia or cashew)
3 cups water
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon coconut extract
1 teaspoon ground turmeric
2 tablespoons honey, agave or maple syrup
optional: 1 tablespoon coconut butter

What you'll need

Blender
Original Series or Skinny Series Glass Bottles

Directions

Soak the almonds in a bowl of water for 2 hours.
Once the nuts are hydrated and plump, dump the water and rinse the nuts. Place the almonds, water, vanilla, coconut extract, turmeric, sweetener and coconut butter, if using, in your blender container.
Blend until smooth. Almond milk holds a lot of nut sediment after blended, you'll probably want to strain it, but some people like it thick. I recommend straining it through a nut milk bag, cheesecloth or fine mesh strainer. It's best to opt for a fine mesh strainer for this one, because turmeric will stain your nut milk bag, FYI.

Recipe Note

Storing: This nut milk stores for days in the refrigerator. I use our juice bottles to prep & store a batch of this. Nut milks store even better than juices, so if you haven't done this, you've got to try it.
